Join community stakeholders and residents to learn about the Sunset Park Comprehensive Workforce Needs Assessment. The Sunset Park Economic Mobility Network (SPEMN) will share the findings and recommendations from our 6-month long survey of local residents, employers, and service providers. The SPEMN hopes to advance a walk-to-work model of employment in Sunset Park where families have access to meaningful jobs on our working waterfront.

About SPEMN

SBIDC operates the Sunset Park Economic Mobility Network (SPEMN), a coalition of seven local organizations working in collaboration to help improve workforce opportunities for Sunset Park families. The Network seeks to enhance a walk-to-work model in Sunset Park where local businesses who value local hiring provide meaningful and family-sustaining jobs to those who live here.

The SPEMN will secure funding and implement priority workforce development projects each year that will expand local resident employment at waterfront assets in Sunset Park and expand local resident training for innovation industries like the green economy, life sciences, light industrial tech, and creative sectors.

This is a multi-year project funded by NYC EDC.
