Sunset Park Economic Mobility Network

The Sunset Park Economic Mobility Network (SPEMN) is operated by SBIDC and comprised of local workforce development providers, employers, and other community stakeholders

The mission of the SPEMN is to advance a ‘walk-to-work’ model of employment where workforce opportunities in the Sunset Park waterfront district providing career advancement and economic mobility are made accessible to local families.

The SPEMN will secure funding and implement priority workforce development projects each year that will expand local resident employment at waterfront assets in Sunset Park and expand local resident training for innovation industries like the green economy, life sciences, light industrial tech, and creative sectors.

The Network is a connector between Sunset Park families and the waterfront district, maximizing the ability to keep meaningful, family-sustaining jobs in the Sunset Park community and include local families in the waterfront’s economic development and revitalization.

This is a multi-year project funded by NYCEDC.
