Time to Manage
As Q1 of 2024 comes to a close, have you considered which aspects of your business need prioritization as the year unfolds? Are you certain about your next steps, or do you wish you could consult with an expert?

In SBIDC’s upcoming webinar series, 'Time to Manage,' you will have dedicated time with professionals to discuss free tax preparation, legal and real estate questions, and a Notion crash course.

Join any or all of these four sessions for a 360-degree approach to business planning and operations.

Program Sessions:
  • Wednesday 3/13 @ 12PM noon: Free Tax Prep for Small Businesses and Freelancers, with Grow Brooklyn. In partnership with the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP), Grow Brooklyn will teach self-employed tax filers and small business owners about their tax filing and recordkeeping obligations. At the end of the workshop, you will be given tools to help keep your business income and expenses organized.
  • Wednesday 3/20 @ 1PM: Legal Catch-up and Q&A, with labor attorney Rania Sedhom. Rania will be covering labor considerations when contracting with vendors/independent contractors (including a federal law on IC classification that took effect earlier this month), new statewide regulations on social media and privacy protections in the workplace, and have ample time for Q&A. Bring your questions ready!
  • Wednesday 3/27 @ 12PM noon: Negotiating an Industrial Lease, with real estate attorney Justin Waiser and broker Rich Novak. Justin and Rich will discuss what you need to know when considering a new industrial lease. They’ll provide a scan of current industrial real estate market conditions, and cover what you should keep in mind when assembling your team  to  pursue a real estate transaction and close on a lease.
  • Wednesday 4/03 @ 12PM noon: From Clutter to Clarity: Mastering Project Management with Notion, with consultant Daryl Oh. *Exclusive to Plan for Growth alumni, SBIDC Member Businesses, and prospective PfG applicants.* Daryl will share the bare minimum, bare essentials, quick and dirty way to get everything out of your head and into a centralized workspace that works. By the end of this webinar, you will have a fully functioning Notion workspace with your current goals, projects, and tasks.
