You are invited to attend a FREE SEMINAR on Water-based Finishing at Brooklyn Woods is for professionals who are interested in learning about using environmentally-friendly water based dyes, stains, primers, clear and pigmented topcoats. You will also learn about a new Formaldehyde-free Conversion Varnish. Attendees will have an opportunity to try out an air-assisted airless spray system in Brooklyn Woods’ spray room.

Procurement Access & Youth Development Workshop (P.A.Y.D.)
SBIDC will be hosting a workshop on the newly launched Procurement Access & Youth Development (P.A.Y.D.) program on Wednesday, August 3rd at 9:30am. This workshop is open to all businesses, organizations, and individuals who have an interest in the P.A.Y.D. program and/or in procurement assistance or youth job development in general. At the workshop, detailed information about the program will be provided, including services offered and organizations involved. In addition, the government contracting arena will be examined, from identifying and locating opportunities to attaining certifications and the bidding process, as well as our partner organizations’ efforts in youth job preparedness. The workshop will be held in our Sunset Park office at 241 41st Street, between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. It is free to attend and breakfast will be provided. We are partnering on this event with EWVIDCO and believe it will be an excellent forum to get advice on workplace issues from your peers as well as an expert on Human Resources.
The roundtable is largely driven by the attendees’ questions. We will have an expert, Rania Sedhom, on hand to answer all inquiries. Rania is an attorney and a Principal in the Tax and Legal Consulting group in the New York City office of Buck Consultants. Her responsibilities include advising benefit funds on all aspects of ERISA and tax law, including plan mergers, prohibited transactions, and plan funding methods. Rania analyzes legal and business risk issues within the context of an investment advisory practice as they relate to ERISA funds and plans. In addition, Rania counsels companies on sexual harassment and discrimination policies, employment privacy and promotion, demotion and termination issues, and basic HR compliance.
