New Program: Procurement Access & Youth Development (P. A. Y. D.)

P.A.Y.D. is an innovative direct service program that will simultaneously address business and youth needs that have long gone underserved by existing programs. Through assistance in bid preparation, bid searching, pricing, presentation, and certification, P.A.Y.D. provides businesses with the FREE one on one support needed to compete for government and private contracting opportunities.  In turn, businesses will be able to grow and employ disconnected youth in quality positions created from successful contract awards.  This program will focus on the business located in the Sunset Park, Red Hook and Gowanus neighborhoods. 10,000 Small Business Program

Six Point Craft Ales and Turning Star were recently accepted into the 2011 class of the 10,000 Small Business program, funded by Goldman Sachs and administered by LaGuardia Community College.

Member Testimonial

"SBIDC not only helped Sixpoint find their original location in Brooklyn, but has also been effective beyond the traditional and common needs of a small business (property, equipment, etc).  Once specific example is their guidance and encouragement to apply in the 10,000 Small Businesses Program.  Not only did they spearhead our application and get the ball rolling, but their follow through and thoroughness led to our successful admission to the program." - Shane Welch, President & CEO
