The Red Hook Storefront Improvement Program is available to qualifying businesses located between King Street and Coffey Street along Van Brunt Street. This is a program funded by the Department of Small Business Services to help merchants and property owners improve their storefronts in order to create a more consistent streetscape to benefit local visitors, residents, and workers. Merchants and Property owners can apply for up to $5,000 in matching funds per storefront, where the local business has to invest $1 for every $3 provided by the City. Southwest Brooklyn IDC, along with a designer provided to us by SBS, will work with your business to develop an approved set of improvements, which can include:
- New see-through security gates
- Other exterior façade improvements
All proposed work must be pre-approved and go through the application process.
